Not actually the Kings Dominion Clown Band per se at this point, thanks to Paramount. But still the Clown Band in spirit. And we can see what a great job Paramount did during its stewardship of the park!

Memories from an Old Timer: a conversation with Ben Haley about KDCB 8:
"1994, KDCB 8 = Marx Brothers Monkey Business Band, which essentially transformed into KDCB8 when the (newby non-musican) band member who played Groucho Marx was fired for eating a hot dog while performing, somewhere around mid-season or soon after.
This may seem like a minor offense, but apparently it was the 'last straw' after a string other strikes against him. Apparently, there was little love lost between him and the band. But the show as it was written made no sense without his part, so the band had little choice but to simply go on walks for the rest of the season.
I remember distinctly the first time they hit the street, sans-Groucho; everyone was ecstatic, as if a great weight had been lifted. Jared Sims said (or rather, yelled) it best as the band ran past me: 'WE'RE THE CLOWN BAND AGAIN!!!'
Another strange element to "KDCB 8" - with the exception of the other two Marx Brothers (Jason and Adam, i think?), everyone was dressed in the old CB uniforms (coattails, short pants), but they were all solid black; the design idea was that they were the "orchestra". I've always thought it was somewhat poignant that the members of the last year of the band were dressed as if in mourning, or perhaps a wake...
This was also the only year that the Band was forced to audition separately, rather than as a group, which meant having to compete with your fellow section members. This was understandably traumatic for many, and directly led to Leslie opting out."
