About KDCBOK

You might have guessed by now that this site is about the Kings Dominion Clown Band (KDCB). This musical troupe was active in its most recent incarnation at Kings Dominion (KD) from 1987 to 1994. Kings Dominion is an amusement park located in Doswell, Virginia some 20 miles north of Richmond. Six days a week all summer long we strapped on our Converse Chuck Taylor hightops and did our best to have fun and live up to the "zany" tag the marketing department assigned us.

Historically speaking, we know of at least one earlier manifestation of the KD Clown Band, in the late 70s. But that's practically archeology! However, if you have some information about this earlier edition of the KDCB, please contact one of us or add your information directly to the Archives We'll be happy to make room on this site for our ancestors! We also know there was a Clown Band at Kings Island, KD's sister park outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. We have room for you guys, too.

2007 marks the 20 year (!!!) anniversary of the KD Clown Band's inaugural season. So, intrepid KDCBer, get back in touch with one of us in on the Contact Us page. Tell us where you are, what you are up to, and what you've done with your life.

We need pictures, too, so dig through those old shoeboxes full of polaroids and scan 'em in! You can upload them directly into the Vault, or you can contact one of us to get them uploaded in a big batch. And don't forget to visit the Archives to write down a funny story or great memory for those days of yore.
